Quoats

Random quotes are fun. But nothing in this life is truly random. Maybe you’ll find some deep inner meaning to “random” quotes taken from “random” websites around the Interwebs? I’m doing this one in Java on Google App Engine, so I’ll be tracking my progress at my DZone blog.

BitBuilder

This is my fork of the MokoiGaming project. It’s a game building platform at its core. Included is full source code, support for game scripting using Pawn, and some sample projects to get you started. This is one of those projects that will never be finished but is always useable in its current incarnation. Over time, new features will be added so keep an eye out for this one. The majority of the code is C with some C++ mixed in for good measure.

Companies

Small business websites.

Powerhouse Web Solutions helps small businesses get online by building them cost-effective websites and web stores. We operate with the keep-it-simple-stupid (KISS) mentality: make it simple to 1) edit the website, 2) add stuff to the website, 3) make money from the website by selling products on it.

I officially launched Powerhouse Web Solutions on March 1, 2011. If you run a small business and do not have a website (what are you waiting for?) or have a website you want to replace, you should definitely click that link.

Social Media

All these media sites let you stretch your legs in a semi-anonymous manner. I’ll link to some of my other personas here.

Game Blaster 64

I have a lot of fun with this one! These are my “Let’s Plays”. For the uninitiated, I record and upload Youtube videos of me playing videogames such as Minecraft (I’m a huge nut for this game and run my own multiplayer server), Magicka, et al.

I’ve got a pretty decent number of Youtube subscribers on my channel and a sweet number of video views as well. The account is also quite active on Twitter. To cap it all off, GameBlaster64 has its own homepage which is ad-supported through AdSense.

Developing in the Google Cloud

Developing in the Google Cloud

I run a separate Java programming blog on for the DZone network called Developing in the Google Cloud. It focuses specifically on Java and Google App Engine. It’s surprisingly popular even with the small-ish amount of content on it. If you’re looking to get into this sort of stuff, there are plenty of tutorials and people that can help you on the site.

Free Code and Scripts

The code released in this area was written by me as freeware. So, go nuts with it!

MPEG to FLV Conversion Script

I wrote this script for an earlier version of the Synnema video portal and released it on this site back in the early Fall of 2008. Since then, it has become one of the most viewed items on this blog. Feel free to download this script and use it to your heart’s content. It’s freeware. Please note to use this script you will have to have ffmpeg installed on your Linux or FreeBSD machine. If you have a different setup, please let me know if this still works for you as I’m always interested in hearing neat ways of getting stuff to run.
